Nose manual in La Defense

Posted in Uncategorized on March 30, 2011 by juliojuliojulio

The day after the trick comtest in Paris we went riding in La Defense. It was a beautifully hot, sunny day and La Defense is full of great stuff to ride. It was also full of people so maybe a Sunday would have been better. We had a great session then rode up to the Jardin De Tuileries for a pikey picnic AKA McDonalds.

Here’s me doing a nose manual:

More pics to come over on my Charge Bikes blog

Trick, Trick Boom/Lodown Magazine

Posted in Uncategorized on March 29, 2011 by juliojuliojulio

Just so I can confuse myself even more about which posts to put on which blogs and sites, I now contribute to Lodown Magazine. I’ve written a short piece for them on the Paris Trick, Trick Boom competition last weekend so head over there to have a ganders.

Maybe some good photos might surface of me riding in the actual event but for now, here is a photo taken slightly late of me knocking out a pedal grind and wearing a timmy helmet. Crap innit? Not sure why I’m posting that! Still, my run was going pretty well at that point having just stuck a little transfer and a nose wheelie but not so long after I got a puncture. Doh!

The day after the competition we went out for a little street session. Pics of that to come! In the meantime, check out my Charge blog here for sneak pics of the new bike I’m getting

I dunno what’s going on in Hackney… looks like they’ve got their act together on the recreation side of things!

Not only are they building a new skatepark in Victoria Park, but we are also getting an updated BMX track in Hackney. I got a little excited when I saw diggers and huge mounds of dirt near Hackney City Farm but then my pessimism kicked in and I presumed they were just gonna redo the kiddie track. Looks like they are actually turning the place into something that will be fun to ride.

When the new bowls in Clissold Park open in April I’ll have two new spots to ride within five minutes of my house. Yay!

Riding with Jordan Smith

Posted in Uncategorized on March 21, 2011 by juliojuliojulio

I’m back on the trick bike or my bmx on my days off from delivering packages. Working as a courier has made me a lot stronger which is great as I had so much time off before due to injury.  The downside is I’ve been falling asleep at about ten pm even on a Friday night plus the amount of food I’m consuming is out of control.

Anyway, I’ve been riding with Jordan a couple of times and not only is he a good guy to ride with, he’s also sick on a bike too and not full of shit. Here are a couple of snaps from our recent sessions.

Albion Magazine launch

Posted in Uncategorized on March 13, 2011 by juliojuliojulio

Some of the guys from Ride have left to start up their own free BMX magazine called The Albion. I know Benson is involved and he’s not only a great rider but an excellent photographer to boot, so I’m sure the mag will be a winner.

On March 31st, we’re putting on The Albion Magazine launch at the Macbeth.

Come down and grab your free copy, eat free burgers from our rooftop BBQ and have a few beers.

Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Not in my opinion!

It used to bug the hell out of me when my Mum said that to me when I was at school and I still think it’s load of bollox. It’s actually really annoying and more so when people not only copy but actually PRETEND TO BE YOU! I’ve had to waste a load of time getting a fake facebook account deleted in the past and now someone has set up a fake twitter account and is tweating to my friends and companies I work for. Grow up and get your own life you loser!!!!

Nick at Charge realised it wasn’t me when said ‘Juliet Elliott’ described herself as a ‘fixed gear queen’!!! As if I would say that! hahahah.

It’s Horrible at The Alibi

Posted in Uncategorized on March 2, 2011 by juliojuliojulio

I’ve got a party on at the Alibi in Dalston on Saturday. It was ace last time as the Djs are so good and get ya dancing. I dance like a nob so come to laugh at me at least.

Plus it’s not on a school night unlike the parties I do at the Macbeth.

Right, I’m off out. I’m gonna tentatively try out my trick bike after a month off to heal up. I’m nervous I’m gonna hurt my back again….
