The Tokyo Fixed launch party last night was ace and the shop looks amazing. They have SO much good stock; heaps of stuff I would love!
Right. haven’t got time to fanny about – I gotta go to Rotterdam. Eleven hour coach journey ahead of me. Whoop!

On Thursday I jumped in the van with Wayne, Korey, Kati, Oscar, Odge and Thom and we drove up to Leeds for a showing of The Revival. Ian and Helen had loaned us some blankets and stuff for the back of the van plus Thom had his speakers so despite the fact it was pitch black in the back it was actually pretty comfortable until the last hour when we all developed cabin fever.
We got a few beers in and settled down to watch the film. The movie is really, really good so make sure you go watch it or buy the DVD when you can.
Later that evening we went for a bit of a ride and had some streets beers somewhere in Leeds. Odge, Oscar, Thom and I found some ledges and stuff to jump off so messed about round there then headed back for a bit of kip.

On Friday we went to a skatepark up the road and had a bit of a mess around. I was feeling pretty hungover which didn’t help much but didnt stop me trying, so I am currently covered in bruises. I’m trying to learn those footdown spin thingys but keep landing on my ass. After it started pissing it down we jumped in the van and drove to Manchester where we went for a bit of a ride and I fell off a few more times.
The Manchester screening was in Central skatepark which looked like a great place to ride but it was really busy and full of BMXers so I just watched them for a bit. I did try and do the alleycat that Craig had organised but I lost everyone immediately and then had no idea where to go…..
Saturday night, The Revival was shown in Shop 14 and things got predictably rowdy… well, Ted was there, so of course they did! Added to that it was Massey and Waynes birthday and Tyler Johnson was in town so everyone was in the mood for having a good time. After getting punched in the face just off Brick Lane (and yes, I did fight back) we headed over to a house party. It was really good fun – we were all dancing in the basement.
Thanks to the people who helped us out/put us up/ put up with us this week. Its been ace. Off to Rotterdam Thursday too!
Met up with some of the guys from The Revival yesterday and took them down the Kennington Bowl and Stockwell. I took my BMX as I fancied riding it at the skatepark and Minh Ai had her first go on one. Unfortunately she stacked it and ended up splitting her chin in the same place I did mine and getting three stitches.
You can’t see how much Minh Ai’s chin looked like corned beef in this picture:

We took the Canadians (wait, actually, I think Kati might be American…) but we took the Vancouver contingent to the classiest of classy British joints, Wetherspoons whilst we waited for Minh Ai to get stitched. They have guest ale for £1.69 at the moment so its a goddam shame I don’t like ale! Still its bloody cheap and I like it. Apart from the Stoke Newington branch which has a higher quota of nutters than some of them and a local I dislike who wears a pith helmet.
Hangin at The ‘Spoons:
Anyway, seeing as I am wittering on about nothing, I’ll let you in to what is occupying me today, at least what is occupying me between the work I am doing….
Its this: which and where. Decisions, decisions……
So, The Revival will be showing this Saturday, the 21st November and Shop 14 in London. After that, there will be premiers in Paris, Rotterdam, and somewhere in Germany, possibly Cologne, I forget. Check it out if you get a chance!
The I Heart party was a banger on Thursday night. It started off pissing it down which sucked as out of the four parties we have put on it has done that twice. Pretty unlucky I thought. We got the BBQ fired up nontheless and the night ended up being packed anyway. It was ace. Check the Vice photo blog for pics!

Now then, now then, its total rubbish outside this week – all drizzly and cold. So I reckon that you should defnitely come to The Macbeth this Thursday for the monthly party that Posy and I throw.

This month we team up with Dalikfodda – our most awesome metal friends from the North. The boys at ‘fodda make rather nice beanies to keep your long hair out your eyes AND make you look cool. They also have some rather nice t shirts although last time I looked their shop was down… Still, they are a fine bunch and sponsor some of the best snow and skate bandits around. Including Will Hughes who is a lovely chap and just got hooked up my Artec. Nice one WILL!

At 11om we’ll have Jettblack live on stage – epic rock gods with amazing hair. I’ll will also be DJing which makes a change as normally I’m banned from doing so as I would just play metal. This time though, its all about metal (well, soft rock too really, eh) so we also have Sanna and Nina aka ‘Bad Aciiiid’ on the wheels of steel.
Added to that you have Radio Super Woofer spinning tunes and flipping burgers on the roof from eight as well as numerous in joke artists including Zuul, The Ninjas, Black Rainbow and the ever so slightly more proper Feeding Time. Oh, and its free. Come!
I got my BMX a short while ago but wanted to wait until it had a back brake before I took it to the skatepark. I bought Ted breakfast in return for brazing the brake mounts back on and on Monday I finally got to take my new bike for its first proper ride.
It was SO much fun. Pretty gutted I’ve never ridden BMX before but still, better late than never.
I went down to Kennington bowl where I started off rolling in and carving around before dropping in over the coping for the first time. Then we rode down to Stockwell where I followed Tom around a couple of times before sessioning small hump from the large bowl into the smaller one. Managed to get some air but was going pretty long and beginning to clear the landing so Tom suggested I carve round into it and go up the side so that it was more like a hip and the flat top was a little longer. I gave that a go and ate shit, skidding along the floor on my palms. Gotta wear gloves next time. It was ACE!!!! Wanna go to Brockwell Park pump track next.
Here’s Tom at Kennington Bowl:

This is me, borrowed from Thom not Tom’s blog. I’m riding my new Metal Bike which I love!

Sam just got a BMX too. She had her first go at the Brooklyn Banks back in NYC and loved it immediately then when she saw the FBM film at the Bicycle Film Festival, she decided her first had to be one of those. She is so damn busy that we haven’t had a chance to ride together yet but I can’t wait till we do. Here she is showing it off at home last week:

I did the Halloween alleycat on Friday night and it was ace. We went as Immortal although my corpse paint didn’t last too well after a full five minutes with my head dunked in a bucket of water (or swine flu according to Minh ai) trying to bob for garlic. I managed to come 4th overall and first girl and Minh Ai came fifth on her first alleycat which was cool. I was expecting to come somewhere around the last place so was quite suprised!
There was some proper good facepaint on show!

Thanks to the organisers!
